First time I was aware of you site. Found a link posted by Zman on the SOSEN forum.
Please consider joining the SOSEN forum and feel free to use information from the main front page http://www.sosen.org to bolster your fight there in Louisiana. You sure have an uphill battle with a governor like Jinga who seems willing to sacrifice all former offenders and their families for his own political gain.
SOSEN is the Sex Offender Solutions & Education Network, one of the two national organizations fighting for solutions to these draconian sex offender laws that ultimately steel everyone’s freedoms. The other national group is Reform Sex Offender Laws. They hosted a national convention in St. Louis just last week.

Introduction I am a rso in south florida. convicted of sexual misconduct in Missouri class a misdomearor. concerning internet stings. My son came to live with me in 3 years ago he is 23 now. I told him rules of the house were no pornograhy no staying up late at night. my son is mental ill that is why his mother sent him to me. well one night the police come to my door with a warrant to search my home. it was the fdle the sheriff and police. they came becouse of a sting. my son had been looking at porn on the internet late at night. they check both of our computers mine was clean but my sons was not and they kept it. my son how ever was not arrested. I have had to ask him to leave shorty after that

My attitude is “piss on them”. The lying politians, the crooked legislature, the scam artists, the what’s in it for me greedy people. They make me sick. I’m banned from public housing, can’t vote, can’t live near a schoool, day care or school bus stop, can’t own a gun to protect myself(but perfectly fine to be shot and killed by a criminal). My son was taken from me 10 years ago and these stinken kiss ass judges(should say cover your ass judges) are pieces of shit. I had to give up trying to get my son back, took too much out of me. He is now 14 and I’m 65. Doesn’t matter his mother forced him to lie about something I never did. Who was the abuser? FUCK IT!
I here you load and clear, the wheels of justice turn real slow but we have to keep fighting or they win and we might have to die on this sword for future generations.

The more we learn about these laws the more able we will be to get the changes that are necessary. Sites such as this are very valuable. The labeling and public notification strangles so many into feeling they are helpless and hopeless. I think this is an intention of many of those who support such legislation. Hope is one of the most basic human motivations and we must not give up. Best to all who read this!
Thank you for your comments I think if the public was truly aware of what was going on we could get some laws changed. Hope is definitely what we need so that we stay motivated and keep moving forward. I believe eventually we will win.
I think there would be more action if, as supporters of changing legislation, the news networks would stop portraying anyone on the registry as a pedophile. What a shame the political agendas and fear mongers make it so difficult to be involved. I am not on the registry but do wonder if any post I make will end up on Facebook or somewhere else to be used against me. The Registry is for predators. People that hunt down or are truly a menace to society. These people are in jail already and everyone else gets crucified. Everyone! Family, friends, children… I don’t think it should be available to the public. It breeds fear and vigilantes. The sad thing is, the Vigilantes are cheered and the person on the registry is immediately vilified and the public usually doesn’t even know the reason they were on the registry, just being on it is enough it seems.
well I certainly agree with that because it’s such a hot topic and it certainly makes headlines. Politicians and the Media know they can use fear and sensationalism to generate votes and ratings. To tell the truth about the issue is counterproductive, if you’re goal is to generate votes and ratings.

I agree with Trey, I hope the word gets out and the people of Florida will listen. I would like to thank you for all your hard work and being there for all of us.
Why is it that the State of Florida can’t see what they are doing to the law abiding people of our great state. Creating crimes, breaking their onw laws and getting away with it. Florida needs to wake up to the truth about all these Craigslist stings and fight for our constitutional rights that are due to us. I also feel that the regestry does nothing to protect our children, it is just a way to ruin lifes of our future. One question I have is, Why would a child preditor go to an age verified adult website such as Craigslist to prey on kids? they don’t! So why is the Law Enforcement doing stings on Craigslist instead of facebook, myspace, twitter and other child oriented website? One other thing, you hardly ever hear about female sex offenders they are out there and in prisons,but nothing is said just male sex offenders. What about all the congressmen and state officials that get trapped in these stings, you don’t hear about them getting arrested or prison time. Justice needs to be done.
what do u think the real reason for the registry is in Fl? I know that most lawmakers know that probly about 75% of the people on the registry are first time offenders with a consensual relationship. Something isnt right in Fl. Im trying to understand. Its obviously not about public safety. Any ideas?
